Heather Kohlmeier is an artist, papermaker, and educator. Process and material are central to her making practice and inspire her creation of both functional and sculptural forms. These forms are often a study of translucency and are nature inspired. She has broad teaching experience in textile and fiber arts including papermaking, indigo dyeing, surface embellishment, and textile design. She is co-founder and Artistic Director of the Textile Arts Center of Madison.
Heather is a devoted Wisconsinite, having spent most of her life in Madison. When she's not busy making or spending time with family, she's guaranteed to be cuddled up with a sleepy pup and a good book.
